Week 5 of college football is in the books, and the weekend could ultimately go down as one of the most exciting of them all when the season is said and done. After ten ranked teams lost over the weekend, five of which fell to unranked foes, major changes are likely to come in the polls entering Week 6. Following Week 5, CBS Sports has predicted the AP Top 25 Poll and there are wholesale changes throughout.

Plenty of major matchups were on the schedule in Week 5, with five games between two previously ranked opponents. But the story of the weekend will ultimately be the number of ranked teams that lost. Kentucky was the highest ranked team (previously No. 7) to lose, falling 22-19 to Ole Miss (prev. No. 14). NC State (prev. No. 10) fell in a top ten matchup against Clemson (prev. No. 5), and Baylor (prev. No. 16) fell to Big 12 foe Oklahoma State (prev. No. 9).

In other top 25 matchups, Alabama (prev. No. 2) cruised through Arkansas (prev. No. 20) and Wake Forest (prev. No. 22) defeated Florida State (prev. No. 23) in an exciting ACC matchup.

Washington (prev. No. 15) fell to previously unranked UCLA, while Texas A&M (prev. No. 17) picked up another disappointing defeat at the hands of Mississippi State.

Oklahoma seemed poised to contend for the College Football Playoff two weeks ago, but the Sooners were dominated against TCU and now could fall out of the rankings altogether. Minnesota (prev. No. 21) also lost to Purdue while Pitt (prev. No. 24) dropped a game against Georgia Tech.

CBS Sports predicts that the same six teams will sit at the top of this week’s AP Top 25 Poll, although in a slightly different order. The prediction goes on, though, to be completely overhauled from that point on with seven new teams joining the top 25. Teams like Kansas, who have been sitting just on the outside looking in for weeks, now have a big opportunity to make the leap into the top 25. Here is a full look at CBS Sports’ stab at this week’s rankings.
