CBS Sports shakes up college football QB Power Rankings after Week 7

There’s a new No. 1 in CBS Sports’ college football quarterback rankings after Week 7 action delivered with drama and upsets.
Rising to the challenge, and earning the top spot for it, was Tennessee Volunteers star Hendon Hooker. Hooker completed 70% of his passes on his way to a 385-yard passing game with five touchdowns and one interception. The Vols toppled the Tide but Alabama QB Bryce Young still came in at No. 3. Although he’s not No. 1 this week, CJ Stroud continues his streak in the top three at No. 2.
Quinn Ewers jumped up in the rankings to No. 3 ahead of Week 7, but his performance versus Iowa State dropped him to No. 7 going into Week 8. He threw for a meager 172 yards and three touchdowns while going 17-for-26.

Behind the top 10, there’s a crop of quarterbacks that are just one great performance away from pushing their way back into the mix. Among them is Kentucky quarterback Will Levis. Levis suffered an injury in the Wildcats’ win over Mississippi State but after a week off for the bye, he’ll once again move into connection for a top-10 spot in the rankings.
