Zion BoisseauDinwiddie 55-6 v. Granby13 of 15 passing for 181 yards & 2 TD’s. 5 carries for 82 yards & 3 TD’s.
JJ ParkerHanover 51-14 v. Monacan11 carries for 125 yards & 2 TD’s. 4 tackles and a sack on defense.

Two outstanding performances against similar opponents. Granby was 0-1 and Monacan was 0-1 coming into these matchups. Zion continues to show thru 2 games that this young man is a baller. 5 touchdowns this week and 263 yards of offense to his credit. Parker who made a name last season for the Hawks did it on both sides of the ball to prove he is no one-trick pony.

Quarterback

Deshaun ChisemMeadowbrook 41-0 v. Kecoughtan14 of 20 passing for 270 yards & TD.
6 carries for 36 yards & 1 TD.
Connor PfalzgrafDeep Run 21-17 v. Atlee9 of 17 passing for 190 yards & 2 TD’s including game-winner.

Deshaun backed up last week with some top notch numbers again with over 300 yards of offense and 2 TD’s. Connor didn’t put up the numbers but what he did do was deliver at crunch time including a game winning TD pass to steal victory from Atlee.

Rushing

LJ HewlettPrince George 49-0 v. JR Tucker9 carries for 209 yards & 3 TD’s.
Breon BonnerHermitage 62-13 v. Henrico6 carries for 142 yards & 1 TD.

LJ had one of the best nights rushing in the region averaging 23.2 yards per carry and did so three times. Wild thing is he was pulling double duty with playing from the QB spot. On a team for stud athletes, Breon averaged 23.6 yards per carry and found the promised land once in a rout of the Warriors.

Receiving

Ze’Vion GrammerHopewell 16-14 v. Mecklenburg7 catches for 200 yards & a TD.
Cullen BurchDeep Run 21-17 v. Atlee4 catches for 127 yards & a TD.

Both athletes made big plays for their respective teams. You cannot average 28.5 yards per catch and not be a baller. Of course you cannot overlook what Cullen did with 31.7 yards per catch and his lone TD the one that won the Wildcats the game.

Defense

Michael DavisThomas Dale 21-0 v. LC Bird8 tackles and a safety.
Braxton PursellMills Godwin 48-7 v. Patrick Henry20 tackles plus a forced fumble.

Both of these guys punished their opponents tremendously. Michael Davis with another banner game and a safety to add insult to injury against rival Bird. Braxton bringing the heat with 20 tackles! Can’t go wrong with either of these guys on your team.

Special Teams

Keyon RidleyPetersburg 30-6 v. IC Norcom86 yard kick return for TD.
Mac NolandArmstrong 21-14 v. Thomas Jefferson3 for 3 on PAT’s & 3 kick-offs for 148 yards.

Petersburg needs love to and they are off to a 2-0 start. The talented Mr. Ridley scorched earth on his way to the end zone on a kick return against the Greyhounds. All Mac did was be consistent, consistent on PAT kicks and consistent in the kicking game averaging 49.3 yards per kick. Coach Pruitt was high on this young man and you can see why.

Impact

Cole LienbergerThomas Dale 21-0 v. LC Bird5-24-2 TD / 4 tackles 1 sack
Aladin SimmsArmstrong 21-14 v. Thomas Jefferson4 tackles 2 pbus game win

Impact on a game can mean many things. Can mean contributions all the way around or one big play that defines a game. These two represent both. Cole went out and scored twice against the Skyhawks with a modest 24 yards. Then he turned around and delivered blows on the defensive side of the ball. Aladin on the other hand had some magic of his own (pun intended) breaking up a pass in the end zone that could have meant overtime with the TJ Vikings.
