Miami star receiver and LSU transfer CJ Daniels had a special tribute during a primetime game against Florida State on Saturday night. His eyeblack contained a message honoring the late LSU receiver Kyren Lacy.

Painted on the eyeblack on both sides was “LLK2,” referring to Lacy and his number with the Tigers. Lacy died in April.

And the tribute was getting plenty of airtime on Saturday night, with Daniels posting a monster game against the Seminoles. Late in the third quarter he had already accounted for four catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

Following his second touchdown, Daniels got into the teeth of the camera and hummed the FSU warchant. Meanwhile, his eyeblack honoring Kyren Lacy got plenty of airtime. You can see the eyeblack below.

This is not the first tribute to Kyren Lacy by a player. Several former LSU stars have also honored their former teammate in recent months.

Various tributes for Kyren Lacy

During the 2025 NFL Draft, top Tigers draft pick Will Campbell honored Lacy. There was an accessory adorning his outfit that meant a ton to the former LSU star.

“You see right there, I’ve got the #2 pin on my lapel. Kyren, he was a special human being. I feel for his family. They’ve been through a lot lately. He’s got such a great family. He wasn’t only a good football player, but he was such a good teammate. A good son. A good older brother. Just a good dude in general. It’s just terrible, everything that’s happened. I’m sending many prayers to his family,” Campbell told the media, via The Next Round on X.

Then, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier honored his former target in the passing game. He did so at SEC Media Days. Nussmeier donned a suit that had the No. 2 custom printed inside it.

Once the NFL preseason began, Malik Nabers, a former teammate and receiver at LSU, also honored Kyren Lacy. He wore custom thigh pads that featured the two receivers on it.
