College Basketball Rankings: AP Poll Top 25 updated after Week 3

The latest college basketball AP Poll Top 25 rankings are here following Week 3 of the regular season! We got some more movement, as we should get every week!

Multiple neutral site MTEs headlined the past week’s top results with multiple other Top 25 contests on the schedule. Among those, the first Top Five matchup saw Arizona knock off UConn and continued its hot start to the season.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest AP Poll top 25 rankings. We’ll start with the top team in college basketball.

1. Purdue

Purdue managed to scoop up two wins last week, beating Memphis 80-71 and a top 15 Texas Tech team, 86-56. The latter was certainly eye opening!

Atop the AP Poll, the Boilermakers look like early national title contenders. In the win over Texas Tech, they had six players in double figures after building a 23 point lead at the half.

2. Arizona (+2)

How about the Wildcats? Arizona took down UConn in a thrilling November matchup, 71-67. With that, they move up the AP Poll.

Jaden Bradley led the way with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists in the victory. Koa Peat added 16 points, 12 rebounds and three assists.

3. Houston (-1)

Houston blew out Rider last week, 91-45, to improve to 5-0. Kelvin Sampson has been oh-so-close to winning it all with the Cougars and perhaps this season is finally it.

In the win over the Broncs, Kingston Flemings led the way with 18 points and five assists. Emanuel Sharp added 15 points, two rebounds and five assists.

4. Duke (+1)

Duke won three games this past week, en route to a 7-0 record. Jon Scheyer’s team is off to a hot start on the court and in the AP Poll!

It was highlighted last Tuesday with a win over Kansas, 78-66. Cameron Boozer had 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the victory.

5. UConn (-2)

UConn had a tough loss to Arizona last week but rebounded with a dominant win over Bryant on Sunday. The Huskies are 5-1 through six games and still top 10 in the AP Poll.

In the win over the Bulldogs, Eric Reibe had 16 points, six rebounds and one assist. Silas Demary Jr. had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

6. Louisville

Louisville stayed in the top 10 of the AP Poll with a win over Cincinnati on Friday. The Cardinals beat the Bearcats in a non-conference tilt 74-64.

Ryan Conwell had 25 points, five rebounds and two assists in the win. Mikel Brown Jr. added 22 points, five rebounds and six assists.

7. Michigan

Michigan is now 4-0 on the season following a win over Middle Tennessee State. With that, they’re still a top 10 team in the AP Poll.

The Wolverines were led by Yaxel Lendeborg, who put up 25 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Aday Mara added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

8. Alabama (+3)

Following a loss to Purdue 11 days ago, Alabama bounced back with a ranked win over Illinois last Wednesday. Going into a massive early game against Gonzaga Monday night, the Crimson Tide are feeling good about themselves and in the AP Poll!

In the win over the Illini, Labaron Philon had 24 points, two rebounds and five assists. Taylor Bol Bowen added 12 points and three rebounds in the win.

9. BYU

BYU beat an AP Poll ranked Wisconsin team on Friday, 98-70. That was pretty convincing wasn’t it?

Richie Saunders had 26 points, three rebounds and two assists in the win. AJ Dybantsa had 18 points, six rebounds and three assists.

10. Florida

The defending national champions remained in the top 10 of the AP Poll this week and improved to 4-1 on the season. The Gators beat down Merrimack 80-45 on Friday.

Alex Condon had 20 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in the win. Reuben Chinyelu went off with 14 points and 21 rebounds.
