College Football Playoff odds: Opening point spread released for 2025 CFP first-round games

Now that the 2025 College Football Playoff bracket is in place, the odds and opening point spreads have been released, according to BetMGM. Games will start Dec. 19-20 at campus sites.

The 12-team field was announced Sunday afternoon, and three first-round games will take place on SEC campuses. No. 6 seed Ole Miss, No. 7 seed Texas A&M and No. 8 seed Oklahoma will all host. The action starts Dec. 19 with No. 9 seed Alabama visiting the Sooners.

From there, it’s on to quarterfinal games at campus sites. Here are the point spreads for every College Football Playoff first-round game, according to BetMGM.

9. Alabama (-2.5) at 8. Oklahoma

The opening game of the first round sees Alabama open as a road favorite against Oklahoma. According to BetMGM, the Crimson Tide opened as 2.5-point favorites in a rematch of the two teams’ regular season matchup, which took place at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The over-under also opened at 40.5.

10. Miami at 7. Texas A&M (-3.5)

Miami is heading into quite the environment for a first-round College Football Playoff game, heading to Kyle Field to take on Texas A&M. The Aggies opened as 3.5-point favorites in the matchup, with an over-under of 51.5, according to BetMGM.

11. Tulane at 6. Ole Miss (-16.5)

Time: 3:30 p.m. ET
Channel: TNT

During the regular season, Ole Miss took down Tulane 45-10. The two teams will square off again in Oxford, this time in the College Football Playoff. The Rebels opened as 16.5-point favorites, according to BetMGM, and the over-under opened at 56.5.

12. James Madison at 5. Oregon (-21.5)

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Channel: TNT

The primetime game on Dec. 20 will see No. 12 seed James Madison head to Autzen Stadium to take on No. 5 seed Oregon. According to BetMGM, the Ducks opened as 21.5-point favorites with an over-under of 50.5.
