The college football season has hit November, and with the leaves changing comes the final stretch of what has been a chaotic season. With that, analyst Joey Galloway has shared his rankings for the top five teams in the sport following Week 10.

Galloway leaned heavily on the Big Ten and the SEC for his rankings. In fact, all five teams come from those two conferences alone. Maybe that isn’t an overwhelming surprise. After all, those two conferences are expected to get the most teams into the College Football Playoff and everyone who Galloway ranked is considered a contender.

Of course, there is still plenty of season left and time for all of this to change. For now, though, here are Galloway’s rankings of the top five teams in college football.

1. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes are sitting atop the rankings that Joey Galloway has put together following Week 10. Still unbeaten, Ohio State has been backed by a dominant defense. Now, there’s also an increase in chatter that quarterback Julian Sayin could be a Heisman contender, especially if he closes the season strong.

Ohio State is currently one of two Big Ten teams that are unbeaten. Given that, the Buckeyes are in control of their future this season. Win out, and they’ll be right where they want to be. Of course, stumbling could lead to plenty of chaos in a competitive conference.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a difficult opening season loss to Florida State, but quickly bounced back from it and haven’t looked back since. Now, they’re unbeaten in SEC play and look like one of the best teams in the country. Certainly, Galloway thinks so.

Coming off a bye week, Alabama had time to reset from a close call in Week 9 against South Carolina. Now, they’re looking to focus their efforts on LSU this upcoming week. Even after a coaching change, that’s a talented opponent and a dangerous game.

3. Texas A&M Aggies

Following Week 10, the Texas A&M Aggies remain the only unbeaten SEC team. It didn’t hurt that the Aggies were on a bye, but it’s still notable that it’s November and Texas A&M stands alone in that regard. They’re not the only unbeaten team in conference play, but even with that, they control their own destiny.

For his part, Galloway has the Aggies ranked third in all of college football. However, a win over a ranked Missouri team next weekend could absolutely help move them up in those rankings. At the very least, it would get them one step closer to the SEC Championship Game.

4. Indiana Hoosiers

It’s been an extraordinary season for Indiana. After being expected to take a step back from where they were a year ago, the Hoosiers seem like they’ve gotten better. Now, Galloway has them sitting at fourth in the country after a blowout win against Maryland.

The wins over Oregon and Iowa are massive for Indiana. It, essentially, gives them a two-game lead over those one-loss Big Ten teams. As a result, it’s a cushion in case the Hoosiers drop a game in their final three.

5. Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs had a close call against Florida over the weekend. Still, they managed to find a way to win against a talented rival. As a result, Galloway has the Bulldogs sitting at fifth in his rankings.

Georgia’s loss to Alabama looms large this November. It’s a tiebreaker that essentially puts Georgia two games behind the Crimson Tide. Without a game against Texas A&M upcoming, the Bulldogs are going to need some help if they want to repeat as SEC Champions this season.
