‘College GameDay’ will be on Rocky Top tomorrow morning ahead of No. 6 Georgia vs. No. 15 Tennessee. With that, Rece Davis and Pete Thamel, who aren’t among the pickers on the show, shared their selection as to whether the Bulldogs or Volunteers will win tomorrow.

On the ‘College GameDay Podcast’ this week, Davis and Thamel previewed this game ahead of them being in Knoxville on Saturday. So, when it came time to make their picks, Davis set it up ahead of the Top 15 matchup.

“We talked a lot early in the podcast about Georgia-Tennessee,” Davis said. “Close spread on this one, getting smaller and smaller between the two. Tennessee has lost eight in a row against the ‘Dawgs. Is it time once again to let the big dog eat on Rocky Top? I don’t know. (The) Bulldogs are only a field goal and a hook-favorite on Rocky Top.”

For reference, Georgia is currently sitting as a four-point favorite tomorrow over Tennessee, after the Bulldogs had opened as a touchdown-favorite at first. The point total is then still set at 50.5 points. Those come per the odds at BetMGM.

The recent history is also on the side of Georgia. The Bulldogs have won eight straight over the Volunteers, with Josh Heupel having never beaten them yet. Kirby Smart has only lost to Tennessee just once, which came in his first year as head coach.

Picking first, Thamel went with the home team and the underdog in Tennessee. That’s because he just didn’t have enough answers yet with Georgia, and as he is counting on quite the environment and a home-field advantage inside Neyland Stadium on Saturday afternoon to help the Volunteers end their losing streak to UGA.

“I’m feeling it. I’m going to do it. I am not going to be a chalk-eating weasel,” Thamel said. “I just have too many questions about Georgia, questions about their offense. Defense is good but not the elite, elite, elite defense we’ve remembered there. And, I have visceral memories, standing on the sideline with you, watching those games at Neyland when it is a cauldron of desperation, and they really want to end this schneid against Georgia. So, I am taking the Fighting Aguilars.”

Davis, though, went the other way with the road favorite in Georgia. He, to the tune of ‘Let The Big Dog Eat,’ went with those ‘Dawgs to win this weekend.

“No sir. On Saturday afternoon, the people in red and black, who, inexplicably, are grown people barking at one another? But, they’ll have a little chicken, they’ll have a little drink, they’ll look at all the girls and they’ll give one or two a wink. They’ve been waiting since last Saturday to see another one beat. Friends, it’s time once again, to let the big dog eat,” Davis said. “Big dogs by at least four points.”
