College GameDay Podcast makes pick on Ole Miss vs. Georgia

The highest-ranked matchup of Week 8 is a Top 10 matchup of No. 5 Ole Miss vs. No. 9 Georgia. With that, ESPN’s Rece Davis and Pete Thamel are going with the ‘Dawgs with their picks for this one, with those dogs being a favorite at home in Athens on Saturday afternoon.
Davis and Thamel made their picks for several games, including this one between the Rebels and Bulldogs, on the ‘College GameDay Podcast.’ Neither one felt they were overthinking it, with both going with a win by Georgia.
“I’m going to take the ‘Dawgs between the hedges, man,” Thamel said. “I mean, just — I give them credit for finding themselves in the second half again. And, if there’s one thing about Kirby Smart and his program, there’s a DNA there that has gone from year to year, even as the players change faster than they used to. So, I feel like the ‘Dawgs are going to be able to slow Trinidad Chambliss, force him to sit back and play quarterback in the pocket, which a lot of people haven’t made him do, and they figure out a way to win.”
Davis then made his pick. In doing so, he offered a classic line.
“On Saturday, I’ll have a little chicken, I’ll have a little drink, I’ll look at all the girls and give one or two a wink. I’ve been waiting since last Saturday to see another one beat. Friends, it’s time once again to let the big dog eat,” Davis said as his pick, reciting the words of ‘Let The Big Dog Eat’ by Clisby Clarke. “I’ll take Georgia.”
‘College GameDay’ will be in town tomorrow morning for the Top 10 meeting in the SEC that we’ll see from Sanford Stadium. Davis and Thamel are on the record already, though, in rolling with UGA on Saturday.
