Just last month Rich Homie Quan posted a video of Sanders dancing to one of his songs during a Colorado practice. Calling the moment a full circle one and Sanders an idol to himself and his brother growing up in sports. But Quan also made his contribution to the sports community in his own unique way during his music career.

Rich Homie Quan’s top hit songs like ‘Lifestyle’ and ‘Type of Way’ not only graced the top of the charts during the prime of his career, but were also in football locker rooms across the country before and after games. With his song ‘Type of Way’ even becoming the unofficial team anthem for the Michigan State Spartans during their historic 2013 season. Even joining the team in celebration following their Rose Bowl win and postgame celebration.

Former Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio also sent his condolences via Twitter following Rich Homie Quan’s death. Calling his time spent with the Spartans team a special one and posting the infamous ‘Rich Homie Quan – Michigan State Spartan for Life’ YouTube video on his account as well.

There’s no doubt he will be missed by many, but also that his music and legacy will be remembered perpetually beyond just the hip hop community.
