Creighton radio broadcast eviscerates officials after blocking foul vs. Baylor: 'Absolutely horse crap call'
Baylor defeated Creighton 81-74 on Monday during both team’s first game as a part of the Players Era Festival. However, the game didn’t end without controversy.
With just over two minutes left in regulation, Creighton trailed 72-66 when the Bears’ Cameron Carr went up for a dunk and missed it. However, the officials called a blocking foul on Bluejays guard Blake Harper. This led to the radio broadcast for Creighton to go berserk on the officials after the play.
“Why are you talking about? That was two seconds after the play ended. He’s outside the circle. He was outside the circle, and he was set. He was outside the restricted area. He was straight up and down. He was set like the statue sitting out in front of New York, New York, and they called that.
“That’s an absolutely horse crap call. in a game that’s been played out like this. Unbelievable bailout call by an incompetent referee.”
Carr would go on to miss the front end of his 1-and-1 free throw attempt. “Ball don’t lie,” the announcer said after the fact. Carr made his second attempt.
Carr finished the game with 21 points, nine rebounds and two blocks during the matchup. He scored the final eight points for the Beats along the way.
For Creighton, their efforts were led by freshman Hudson Greer who exploded for 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting in 23 minutes off the bench. It’s the second game of Greer’s career, and his previous career-best was one point.

Starters Nik Graves and and Josh Dix scored 12 and 15 points, respectively. Both Harper and Jasen Green scored nine points a piece during the matchup.
The loss drops Creighton to 3-2 on the young season. The Bluejays were blown out by Gonzaga 90-63 on Nov. 11 after beginning the season ranked No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll.
However, the Bluejays can bounce back on Tuesday when they take on No. 15 Iowa State at 2 p.m. in their second game in the Players Era Festival. The Cyclones are coming off a thrilling 83-82 win over Rick Pitino and St. John’s on Monday to improve to 5-0 this season.
When the Players Era Festival is over, Creighton will return home to face a Nicholls team that is still looking for its first win of the season. After that, they have a road trip at Nebraska on Dec. 7.
