Dante Moore injury update: Oregon QB leaves game after taking hit to the face on tackle

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore got knocked in the nose hard in a game against Wisconsin on Saturday night. He appeared to be gushing blood after taking the hit.
Contact appeared to get through his facemask and hit the nose, leaving Moore dripping with blood. Backup quarterback Brock Thomas entered the game immediately.
The Ducks quickly scored a touchdown after the injury, going up 14-0. It’ll be interesting to see if Dante Moore is able to return in short order.
At the time of the injury, the Oregon offense was struggling to consistently move the ball against Wisconsin. The total yardage was respectable enough, but the unit hadn’t been able to punch it in regularly.
Dante Moore was 9-of-15 passing for 86 yards. He had not thrown a touchdown or an interception in the contest, while he had rushed four times for a loss of 13 yards. Moore had been sacked twice in the contest.

Should Dante Moore return to Oregon?
Dante Moore is having a heck of a season at Oregon, and many expect him to head to the NFL Draft after the season. But is that his best move? Analyst Todd McShay certainly isn’t convinced of that.
He made the case on The Triple Option podcast that Moore would be best served by returning for another season. Getting that extra experience could make him much more attractive to NFL franchises… and could preserve his longevity in the league.
“I’m looking at it this way. Honestly, and I like to make sure that I’m giving the right advice…There’s a responsibility to watch the tape, get information, and get the right info out there in case anyone’s listening and wants to make a decision off of it,” McShay said. “I desperately want to see all of these guys go back to school for another year. Four of the top-five guys that I’ve got on this list, the top-four all can play another year.
“That’s Dante Moore – who had five starts at UCLA, did not go well. He’s not ready. But, my goodness, he is talented. With Will Stein developing him, like we saw with Bo Nix, like we saw with Dillon Gabriel? With Will Stein, give him another year and you can kind of do that rinse, refine, repeat in the offense? You know how it goes – look at all the mistakes, let’s figure out what we did well, what are the areas we have to improve and come back for another year.”
