David Pollack predicts Ole Miss to beat LSU

No. 4 LSU travels to Oxford on Saturday to take on No. 13 Ole Miss in a ranked matchup between two teams in the SEC. Both teams are 4-0 and have hopes to find themselves in the College Football Playoff at the end of the year.
David Pollack broke down his Week 5 picks ahead of Saturday’s exciting slate. That included LSU vs. Ole Miss, where he revealed his pick to win the SEC showdown.
“I think that defense plays better at home. Like, that’s a proven fact. You play better at home,” Pollack said on his show, See Ball Get Ball. “The crowd noise helps. Nussmeier is really good, man. Like, really good. But what I’ve seen from him so far doesn’t tell me that they’re going to go light up the scoreboard. It tells me they’re going to make mistakes. It tells me they’re going to dink and dunk.
“I think, with (Ole Miss QB) Trinidad (Chambliss), the run game and the tempo, man, I lean Ole Miss. And I think it’s 27-24. I think Ole Miss kind of wears them out, wears that good defense out, puts up enough points. Hotty Toddy and the Sip (are) one of the best atmospheres, the Grove, in all of college football. Trinidad, the unsung hero of college football, puts up great numbers and comes up with a clutch win for Hotty Toddy.”
Last Saturday against Tulane, Chambliss contributed 419 yards of total offense having added 114 yards on the ground to go with his passing numbers. In turn, they rolled past Tulane during Week 4, which is considered one of the most formidable Group of Five teams in the country.

He’s currently 2-0 as the Rebels starter after a successful career at the FCS level with Ferris State. He’s thrown for at least 300 yards in each of those matchups.
Meanwhile, LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier is reportedly dealing with a torso injury, which may have been a contributing factor to the Tigers’ slow start on offense this year. Head coach Brian Kelly believes his QB1’s injury is behind him, as a different story was told against SE Louisiana with him throwing for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns. More points could be on the way for the Tigers against Ole Miss’ defense.
Kickoff between the Rebels and Tigers is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. ABC will carry the national broadcast.
