College football analyst David Pollack released his updated College Football Playoff projection after Week 6 of the season. He even has a new top four!

Pollack revealed his 12-team bracket on his podcast: See Ball Get Ball. We have plenty of college football left, but this bracket looks pretty darn fun!

So, let’s dive into the latest College Football Playoff projections as we hit the halfway point of the year. We start with the first matchup in the first round.

College Football Playoff Game #1

No. 12 Memphis at No. 5 Oklahoma

Memphis gets the Group of Five bid by winning the AAC and making the College Football Playoff for the first time. The Tigers will have to travel to Norman for a first round game per Pollack.

The Sooners are still unbeaten to this point, but don’t have John Mateer. If Michael Hawkins can lead them to a win over Texas this weekend, perhaps this team is good enough to win it all!

No. 11 LSU at No. 6 Texas A&M

An all-SEC matchup in the first round of the College Football Playoff here. Pollack has LSU going on a bit of a run to get in but they’ll have to hit the road.

Texas A&M is currently 5-0 and projected to get a home game. Funny enough, the Tigers are set to host the Aggies on October 25th!

College Football Playoff Game #3

No. 10 Georgia at No. 7 Indiana

If you told someone five years ago that Georgia would travel to Indiana to play a College Football Playoff game, you would get laughed out of the room. But that’s certainly a reality right now.

Indiana has to play at Oregon this week, so it’s a true test. But after Penn State dropped a game to UCLA, Indiana might be the No. 3 team in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Oregon!

College Football Playoff Game #4

No. 9 Alabama at No. 8 Texas Tech

The Crimson Tide have bounced back with four straight wins after a loss to Florida State. Ty Simpson is firing off on all cylinders and Kalen DeBoer is steering them towards the College Football Playoff.

Pollack’s lone Big 12 team is Texas Tech, which is currently undefeated. So even with a conference title, they’re projected to only be an eight seed, potentially due to their schedule and perhaps a loss along the way.

No. 1 Miami vs. TBD

Pollack pegged Miami as the top seed in the College Football Playoff. They’re projected to be ACC Champions in this bracket.

Carson Beck is on a Heisman Trophy pace as well. He has 1,213 yards, 11 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 73.4% completion percentage.

No. 2 Ohio State vs. TBD

The Buckeyes are the defending champs for a reason. They were the best last year and there’s a case to be made they’re the best team this year.

Pollack has them as the No. 2 seed right now, winning the Big Ten over Oregon. But Oregon is close to them, so those seeds could go either way.

No. 3 Oregon vs. TBD

Oregon gets the No. 3 seed in the College Football Playoff per Pollack. As of now, they’re projected to get a bye and get either Texas A&M or LSU.

On the flip side, Ohio State gets Indiana or Georgia in the quarterfinals, so pick your poison. But with the way Dante Moore is throwing and the defense is playing, Oregon is one of the best teams in the country.

No. 4 Ole Miss vs. TBD

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is aware of comments from Arkansas interim coach Bobby Petrino about the Rebels crowd.

The Rebels had Austin Simmons and now Trinidad Chambliss. Either way, the offense has been operating at a high level.

In fact, the whole team has been through a 5-0 start. Pollack has Lane Kiffin and crew winning the SEC and getting a first round bye in the College Football Playoff at this stage.
