On300 WR Daylan McCutcheon talks flip to Texas
Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy On300 receiver Daylan McCutcheon flipped his commitment to Texas on Thursday.
The former Florida State commit also considered Texas A&M. He told Steve Sarkian and the staff earlier in the day he was coming.
“What I liked the most is offensively seeing Coach Sarkisian, seeing how he’s able to use the wide receivers in his play style,” McCutcheon told On3. “Obviously Coach Jackson with him recruiting me for the longest with how our relationship built throughout the years and him coming from NFL and with that being said made me fall in love with Texas. Especially with them being close to home.”
McCutcheon becomes commit No. 21 for the Longhorns in the 2025 cycle. He attended the win over Mississippi State.

“The fact obviously I feel with me going to Texas they’ll have quarterbacks that can get me the ball,” McCutcheon said.
“What makes them special is one them being in the state of Texas the place I grew up. Two how offensively they are with receiver play and how the quarterbacks play.
“I’m glad to find a spot where I can sit down and enjoy the rest of my season.”
On3 ranks McCutcheon as the nation’s No. 12 receiver and No. 69 prospect overall. He adds to a Longhorns class previously ranked No. 6 in the land.
The Longhorns have perhaps the top receiver class in the country as McCutcheon joins five-stars in Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench.
