Deion Sanders hiring Kent State head coach Sean Lewis as offensive coordinator

Deion Sanders is hiring Kent State head coach Sean Lewis as his offensive coordinator at Colorado, sources tell On3.
Lewis confirmed the news during a 7 p.m. meeting at Kent.
Lewis had been the Golden Flashes’ head coach since 2018, posting a 24-31 overall record and a 19-17 mark against MAC opponents. After a 2-10 first season, Lewis led Kent State to a 22-21 overall record and 18-10 mark in conference play the last four years.
The Golden Flashes, who hadn’t won more than four games since 2012 prior to Lewis being hired, were a combined 9-3 against MAC opponents in 2019 and ’20.

Kent State finished no worse than fourth in the MAC in scoring offense within conference play any of the last four seasons.
Lewis had been a candidate for multiple head coaching jobs in the last year, including Cincinnati this cycle and Georgia Southern last year.
