Duke lands 6-foot-6 Italian pro shooting guard Dame Sarr

Dame Sarr, an elite 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Italy, has committed to play for Duke next season.

The soon to be 19-year-old has most recently been playing with FC Barcelona, a professional basketball team based in Spain that partipates in the Liga ACB and EuroLeague. As a young talent, Sarr averaged 5.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game this season. The numbers don’t jump off the page, but it was against some of the world’s top competition.

On3 ranks Sarr as a high-four star recruit and the No. 17 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. He’s also the No. 5 ranked shooting guard.

He also considered schools like Oregon, Kansas, Illinois, BYU, Miami, USC, among others.

Sarr is the Blue Devil’s latest offseason addition. They’ve recently received commitments from Rice transfer Iffy Ufochukwu and Washington State transfer Cedric Coward, who is assumed to be staying in the NBA Draft.

Duke coach Jon Scheyer will be bringing in three traditional freshmen to Durham next season, including Five-Star Plus+ PF Cameron Boozer (No. 3 NATL), four-star SF Nikolas Khamenia (No. 16 NATL), and four-star PG Cayden Boozer (No. 18 NATL).

Duke retains several key players, including Isaiah Evans, Caleb Foster, Maliq Brown, Pat Ngongba, and Darren Harris for another reason.
