Elite EDGE Smith Orogbo sets July commitment date

Commitment day is coming for one of the nation’s top prospects: Houston (Texas) Alief Hastings four-star EDGE Smith Orogbo.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder will announce his decision on July 1, he tweeted on Sunday, and will make his choice between Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Washington.

Orogbo is the No. 90 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 13 EDGE and the No. 15 recruit in the Lone Star State.

On3, however, is much higher on him than the other three services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 26 recruit, No. 3 EDGE and No. 7 player in Texas.

Orogbo has already taken official visits to SMU, Washington, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Texas, with a visit to Oklahoma still scheduled for next weekend.

The Red Raiders are currently trending as the favorite to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
