LSU vs Alabama Preview with J.D. and Shea

ESPN College GameDay will be live from Tuscaloosa on Saturday morning, highlighting the massive SEC West showdown between the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers. Of course, everybody’s favorite segment comes at the end of the show, watching the crew and a guest make selections on the college football slate ahead of us.

On Thursday, comedian Nate Bargatze announced he would be the Week 10 guest picker. He does not have a direct relationship with either Alabama or LSU, admitting he will be representing Vanderbilt on the desk. Either way, Bargatze will be up there, likely providing laughs for everyone involved.

“It’s something, honestly, I’ve always wanted to do,” Bargazte said in his announcement video. “Very excited they asked. Going to go represent Vanderbilt. Anchor Down, baby.”

Bartgaze is originally from Nashville, showing some love for his hometown SEC school during one of the conference’s biggest games of the year. The comedian still lives there as well, making a quick trip down to Tuscaloosa for the College GameDay experience.

Vanderbilt itself has a home game, with Auburn coming to town. Surely it will be part of Saturday Selections and we should all be able to figure out where Bartgaze’s prediction will land.

Alabama, LSU taking center stage at ESPN College GameDay

As much as the people of Tuscaloosa would love to hear talk about the Auburn-Vanderbilt game, their matchup against LSU is going to be the main attraction. With how the schedule shakes out, you would have to assume the winner will be heading to Atlanta for the SEC Championship.

It will be a fascinating matchup on multiple different levels, with Alabama and LSU’s strengths and weaknesses going up against one another. Nick Saban will be wondering how they can slow down Jayden Daniels, the potential Heisman Trophy favorite at the moment. The Crimson Tide have been solid on defense though, guiding them to a few wins.

On the other end, LSU’s defense has struggled and will be down some serious depth in the secondary. Jalen Milroe has not fully put together a four-quarter game quite yet since re-taking over the starting quarterback role. Something will have to change on Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Best of all, we will get to see Lee Corso put on a legendary mascot headgear. Alabama and LSU have been a staple on the show, with Big Al or Mike the Tiger winding up on Corso’s head around noon.
