Four-star tight end Ethan Barbour of Alpharetta (GA) High will announce his college decision on September 22nd.

The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder is down to the following: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State, and South Carolina.

Breaking down the finalists

Barbour broke down what stands out about each of his top schools:

Alabama Crimson Tide: Alabama has a championship tradition like no other and Coach Saban is a legend. The number of NFL players that have come from Alabama since he has been there is incredible.  Also, their new OC has a history of implementing TEs in his offensive scheme and the academics and campus atmosphere is special.  Fans really come out to support their team.

Auburn Tigers: Coach Freeze and Coach Aigamaua really have done a great job with TEs no matter where they have been and Coach Freeze is known to put together explosive offenses so I know I could thrive there.  Also, Auburn is pretty close to home so it would be easy for my family to come see me play.

Georgia Bulldogs:  Coach Hartley has built one of if not the best TE room in the country and I know he can develop me for the next level.  Also, their recent success since Coach Smart arrived has been off the charts.  Plus, UGA has great academics all around and Athens is a great college town that is pretty close to home as well.

Ohio State Buckeyes: Ohio State has one of the most high powered offenses in the nation and I have a great relationship with Coach Bailey.  He did a lot of work with Coach Hartline with the WRs and now that he is coaching the TEs, I know the production from the TE room is going to explode.  Even though OSU is a little far from home, they do a really good job preparing you for life off the field.

South Carolina Gamecocks: Coach Beamer is really building something special and getting to know Coach Wright has been awesome.  They have a history of using TEs in their offense and I think that is only going to grow.  With both my parents growing up in South Carolina, Columbia is the kind of place I could get used to because there are a million cool places to go around the campus.
