Mookie Cook versus Papa Kante brings out host of college coaches

2023 Consensus five-star Mookie Cook of Oakland Soldiers (CA) decommitted from the Oregon Ducks a few weeks ago. The G-League immediately became the favorite but Cook is interested in hearing out colleges. Oregon head coach Dana Altman is here continuing to recruit him, as are assistants from Arizona and Gonzaga. The Oakland Soliders also have Cook’s longtime friend and Oregon commit Jackson Shelstad.

Michigan head coach Juwan Howard is in the building for 2023 big man Papa Kante of NY Rens are assistants from Pittsburgh, Maryland, and more.

2024 Top-25 prospect Dylan Harper of NY Rens 16U has Duke’s Jon Scheyer and Kentucky’s John Calipari courtside for their matchup against Nightrydas (FL.)

Blue bloods in to see the matchup between Caleb Foster and TJ Power

Four-star forward TJ Power of Team BABC has seen his recruitment explode in recent weeks, landing offers from Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA, and others. The blue-bloods join the chase with the programs that have been in the running for longer, including: Virginia, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Iowa, and Providence.

Power and his BABC squad took on Duke commit Caleb Foster and Team Thad.

Here are the coaches that were in attendance: Duke’s Jon Scheyer, Iowa’s Fran McCaffrey, Texas A&M’s Buzz Williams, Xavier’s Sean Miller, Ohio State’s Chris Holtmann, Ole Miss’ Kermit Davis, Notre Dame’s Mike Brey, DePaul’s Tony Stubblefield and more.

Assistants from Kansas, Indiana, Providence, Washington, Pittsbrugh, Texas A&M, Xavier, UNLV, Penn State, Mississippi State, Marquette, Syracuse, Seton Hall, and others were represented.

Reid Ducharme is a top-150 recruit playing for BABC. He’s considering Syracuse, Penn State, Xavier, Providence, and others. Three-star Tre Norman also stars for BABC, holding offers from Marquette, Miami, and more.

For Team Thad, Caleb Foster’s future head coach Jon Scheyer was watching him play. Foster plays alongside Josh Hubbard, a big time Ole Miss target. Kermit Davis was courtside. Team Thad also has Jahki Howard, a four-star recruit in 2024.

Coaches sidelined for Cooper Flagg vs. Cameron Boozer matchup

Two of the top prospects in the 2025 class, Cooper Flagg (Maine United 15U) and Cameron Boozer (Nightrydas 15U) went head-to-head at the 12:30 game on Friday.

Interestingly enough, both Flagg and Boozer have twin brothers and both are good players in their own right — Ace Flagg and Cayden Boozer.

Coaches were lined up and down the court for the highly anticipated matchup, including Duke’s Jon Scheyer, Memphis’ Penny Hardaway, Illinois’ Brad Underwood, Michigan’s Juwan Howard, UMass’ Frank Martin,

Assistants from USC, Kansas, Florida State, Oregon, LSU, Providence, and others are also courtside.

Kentucky’s John Calipari front and center for a big-time matchup

Kentucky head coach John Calipari is courtside for five-star Wildcat commit Rob Dillingham of Team CP3. Calipari is also watching NY Lightning 2024 four-star guard Tahaad Pettiford, who recently received an offer from UK. The Wildcats are also interested in Pettiford’s teammate, five-star 2024 guard Elliot Cadeau — who’s been putting on a show in the second half.

South Carolina head coach Lamont Paris is here for five-star GG Jackson, a former North Carolina commit. The Gamecocks are the favorite to land Jackson.

LSU is three deep, including new head coach Matt McMahon for Mokan Elite 16U point guard Curtis Givens, On3’s No. 20 overall prospect in the 2024 class. Assistants from Auburn and Tennessee looked on.

The LSU staff is also watching LivOn’s 16U Robert Miller III, an LSU legacy recruit. His father, Rob Miller II, played football for the Tigers. Oklahoma’s Porter Moser and Texas’ Chris Beard are also in attendance.

Duke, NBA scouts front and center for Cooper Flagg

Cooper Flagg, the early favorite to be the top player in the 2025 class, has Duke head coach Jon Scheyer (and assistants) front and center for the Maine United 15U star. The Blue Devils have already extended an offer.

Memphis’ Penny Hardaway, Oregon’s Dana Altman, Villanova’s Kyle Neptune, West Virginia’s Bob Huggins, along with assistants from Kentucky, UConn, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Iowa, Texas, and others are in attendance for Cooper Flagg and Maine United’s matchup against Team Takeover (DC).

Several NBA scouts from various teams are also courtside to get eyes on arguably the best prospect in high school basketball.
