Five-Star CB Desmond Ricks down to 3, sets commitment date
Five-star cornerback Desmond Ricks of Chesapeake (VA) IMG Academy is down to three schools– Alabama, Florida, and LSU.
The 6-foot-1, 180 pounder will announce his college decision on December 23rd.
The second-best cornerback in the 2023 class will take an unofficial visit this weekend for the LSU game. He also plans to officially visit Alabama on November 25th, Florida December 2nd, and LSU on December 16th.
Ricks recently announced his reclassification from 2024, where he was ranked as the No.2 player in that class (No. 1 corner).
Desmond Ricks Scouting Summary
“Big, athletic corner who stars on one of the most talented defenses in high school football,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Has good stature for the position at over 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds heading into his junior season. Registers as a strong athlete in the combine setting. Was a key player on IMG Academy’s talented defense as a sophomore in addition to seeing significant time as a freshman. A smooth mover with advanced technical ability. Battle-tested against top wide receivers both in practice at IMG and in playing a national schedule throughout the fall.”
Ricks ranks as the No. 12 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 2 cornerback and the No. 4 player in the state of Florida.
