One of the nation’s best in next year’s recruiting class already has a finish line set in place.

Devin Sanchez, the No. 6 player in the Class of 2025 out of Houston (Texas) North Shore High School, will reveal his college commitment at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on January 6. Ohio State, Alabama and Texas A&M are finalists for the five-star junior cornerback, who just recently lifted his unbeaten Mustangs back to the postseason.

“Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Alabama — those teams right there took a step ahead in my recruitment,” Sanchez told On3 last month. “I’m big on the communication part, so they took communication to a different level, calling me all the time, texting me, and sending me stuff, and that’s what I look at the most.”

Sanchez visited College Station for the Aggies’ tilt vs. Alabama. Texas A&M is making a strong case for Sanchez to remain in-state.

“They’re talking about staying home,” Sanchez said of the Aggies. “It’s only an hour and a half down the road, I’m a Texas kid born and raised here, and they want me and really need me. They need some height in the cornerback room and want a cornerback like me to play for them.”

The elite 2025 CB was then back in Columbus for Ohio State’s win over Penn State. He raved about his time back in the Shoe afterward.

“They make it feel like home,” he said. “They want another tall corner like myself, they want me to play as a freshman … When I was down there, they showed me it feels like home, they show me their defensive playbook, and when I was down there in the summer, they were showing me in the meeting rooms with the defense, looking at the plays with the defense, and I’m seeing what they’re seeing.”

Ohio State is trending to land the commitment of one of the highest-ranked prospects in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

The Buckeyes have been among the frontrunners for the elite at 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback of Houston North Shore — thanks in parts to the efforts of secondary coach Tim Walton and safeties coach Perry Eliano.

Sanchez is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 1 CB in the 2025 cycle — per the On3 Industry Ranking — and has made three visits to Columbus since June.
