Oxford (Ala.) safety Miguel Mitchell has picked up an offer from Florida and LSU, one day after USC offered the three-star recruit.

Mitchell is the No. 901 overall recruit in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He won the MVP award in earlier this month at the 35th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic with five tackles, one forced fumble and one interception.

He said he was going to announce his decision after the game, but did not. Northwestern was the favorite in his recruitment at that time.

Mitchell was previously committed to Vanderbilt before backing off that commitment on November 3. He was the third decommit during that week along with Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County three-star cornerback Caleb Coley and Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley three-star athlete B.J. Diakite.

“I have changed my plans and I would like to say that I am decommitting from Vanderbilt University and reopening recruitment,” Mitchell tweeted at the time. “Decommitting is the hardest thing to do but it is a business decision that I had to make for myself and my family.”

The Gators have the No. 30 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. Fort Pierce (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star safety Kamari Wilson is the top recruit in the class. Florida has also signed Naples (Fla.) four-star safety Devin Moore.
