Florida WR Muizz Tounkara plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal
Florida WR Muizz Tounkara just finished his first season in Gainesville. It’ll also be his last, with his intention being to leave The Swamp.
Tounkara plans to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes according to reporting this morning by On3’s Pete Nakos.
Tounkara appeared in eight games, playing on offense and on special teams, in what’s now his lone season spent with the Gators. That included offensive snaps in six of the eight as he finished with two receptions for a dozen yards, with a four-yard reception in the season opener against Long Island and an eight-yard reception two weeks later in the conference opener against LSU.
A native of League City, Texas, Tounkara played his high school football at Clear Springs. He was a Top-750 overall recruit as a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He also rated as a Top-125 WR in the class, and as a Top-100 player out of the Lone Star State. That’s according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’d then arrive as one of 27 signees last year for Florida, being the lowest-ranked of four commitments at receiver behind Vernell Brown III, Dallas Wilson, and Naeshaun Montgomery, which made up the No. 10 class per Rivals’ 2025 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

This is now the latest expected loss to the portal for Florida. That’s as the upcoming window will be the second one of the year for the Gators after their coaching change caused a month-long one to open following their firing of Billy Napier in mid-October, with them having since hired their new head coach in Jon Sumrall.
Tounkara is ending his career with the program after just one season at Florida. That’s with this news of his plans to have his name in the portal once the one-time, two-week window opens on January 2nd.
