Four-star defensive lineman Vic Burley of Warner Robins (GA) High announced his commitment to Clemson Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 295 pounder chose the Tigers over Michigan State, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Burley on why he chose Clemson

“The culture that Clemson is unlike no other and just the person and player development they have is untouched,” Burley said. “The relationship between the players and coaches are like family. The community around Clemson is great. The Philosophy that Swinney has for this program is great and I wanted to be part of it.”

Clemson atmosphere stood out to Vic Burley

“The game day atmosphere is crazy,” Burley said.Hearing the fans chant and holler. “Watching that sea of orange all around the stadium. Watching the players run down the hill. Then when the game started it was even better from kick off to the last second on the clock was great.”

“Just the non game day experience was just as great seeing the players and coaches in their element and just being able to hang out with them and just talk was great.”

Relationships with staff

“My relationship with the coaches are great, especially with coach Eason and coach Goodwin,” Burley said. “They always tell me that when you come in you’re getting put in the fire and I know I’m ready for it.”

Burley joins coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers top 10 class alongside Christopher Vizzina, Jamal Anderson, and others.

Vic Burley Scouting Summary

“Power rusher that wins with violence and flashes pure strength against the run,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Added around 30 pounds between his junior and senior off-seasons. Basketball player as well as a stand-out thrower in track and field. Threw 50 feet in the shot put and 156’04” in the discus as a sophomore.”

“Dominant against the run by playing with tremendous leverage for being a taller defensive lineman. Has some balance issues and plays out of control at times, but has an undeniably high floor as an interior run stopper.”

He ranks as the No. 51 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally-weighted industry generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting services. The 2023 prospect also tabs in at the No.6 defensive lineman and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.
