The SEC on CBS has begun to roll out its schedule, with two important rivalry games getting announced on Wednesday morning. Both GeorgiaFlorida and ArkansasMissouri will be televised on CBS, with both kickoffs scheduled for 3:30 ET.

Saturday, Oct. 29 was known as the scheduled date for Georgia-Florida already but broadcast information was not yet known. Being considered the “game of the week” by the network, all eyes will once again be one of the SEC’s top rivalry matchups.

As for Arkansas and Missouri, they will play on Black Friday for the eighth time in series history. Battling it out for the Battle Line Trophy, it’s become a regular-season finale tradition for the two programs.

Over the past seven years, the SEC East representative in the conference championship game has been either Georgia or Florida. The two have dominated the division, making their annual matchup in Jacksonville the most important game on the schedule.

Florida head coach Billy Napier will be getting his first taste of the rivalry, wanting to get off on a good foot against Georgia. He and Kirby Smart worked together on the same Alabama staff for a few years when Napier was an analyst and then the wide receivers coach. Smart served as the defensive coordinator under head coach Nick Saban.

As for the Arkansas-Missouri matchup, the Razorbacks were able to get their second win since the rivalry became an annual matchup last season. Head coach Sam Pittman made it a priority to get a win over the Tigers as they closed the season in a strong fashion.

Both programs are looking to take the next step forward and playing each other will be another way to measure success. The Battle Line Trophy currently is living in Fayetteville but will be back on the line just after Thanksgiving.

SEC on CBS to broadcast Auburn-Penn State matchup

After last season’s thriller in Happy Valley, Penn State will be making the return trip to Auburn for one of the most anticipated nonconference matchups of the year. Both teams will have two weeks to prepare before facing off against one another, with the matchup taking place on Sept. 17.

Broadcast information has been announced as well, with CBS having the right to televise the game. It will be the first edition of the SEC on CBS during the 2022 season, with kickoff scheduled for the traditional 3:30 ET. Last year’s game at Penn State was held on ESPN and held at night.

With Jordan-Hare Stadium being the venue, the Auburn faithful will be fully equipped to welcome a Big Ten opponent into SEC country.
