Report: Aaron Rodgers could threaten Super Bowl boycott

No story has been bigger in the NFL this season than Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. From threatening to not return to the organization to everything he has gone through with COVID-19, Rodgers has been in the headlines continually. And according to a report, the biggest story is yet to come.
During his morning show Boomer and Gio on WFAN radio, Boomer Esiason said he received a text saying Rodgers could threaten to sit out the Super Bowl if the Packers were to make it. The source says it would be over the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols, something the Green Bay quarterback is not a fan of.
This is the text read on air from Esiason’s phone.
“Boom, the Rogers saga continues to get crazier and crazier. I have been told by multiple people in Aaron’s direct circle that if the Packers make the Super Bowl, he will use the week leading up to the Super Bowl to prove a major point. He will threaten the NFL by saying he won’t play in the big game or next season if they don’t eliminate some of the COVID-related rules. One big one that upsets him the most is the testing of non-symptomatic players. He’s told Jordan Love to be ready. Like you said, he’s got to make it first but Super Bowl week will be set on fire and send Goodell in a frenzy navigating the situation.”
When Esiason was asked if the text was from somebody people can trust, he responded by saying, “I would, yes.”
When Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 during the season, he missed a Week 9 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. Love got the start and was less than impressive, going 19 of 34 through the air with one touchdown and an interception.

Rodgers would have to win two playoff games before having the opportunity to threaten to sit out the Super Bowl. Green Bay would play both of those games at Lambeau Field after clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a win over Minnesota on Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers teammate, Green Bay star CB activated from COVID-19 list
The Green Bay Packers have activated their star corner, Jaire Alexander, off the reserve/COVID-19 list. The move comes ahead of the Packers‘ Week 18 matchup with the Detroit Lions.
He’s been out since Week 4 with a shoulder injury. The team announced on Friday afternoon that he has been ruled out of their game this weekend with the Detroit Lions.
Alexander has been dealing with an AC joint injury to his right shoulder for much of the season. He’ll need to use the valuable practice minutes the next few weeks to get up to speed before the playoffs.
