ESPN’s Greg McElroy says to “book your travel” to Indianapolis when speaking to Indiana and Ohio State fans. Basically, the Big Ten is a wrap when it comes to these top two teams.

The Hoosiers and Buckeyes are 8-0 and are the top two teams in the AP Poll. Ohio State, the defending champion, has been No. 1 for quite a bit.

The two do not play each other in the regular season this time around, but are bound to clash for the conference crown. Oregon has one loss to Indiana and Penn State is out of it. So unless Michigan, Iowa or USC comes up and takes a spot, it looks like Ohio State and Indiana for, potentially, the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.

“Big Ten, about as clear as it gets. It’s not a race,” McElroy said on Always College Football. “This is a collision course, Ohio State on one side, Indiana on (the other side). Doesn’t look like either one are going to be tripped up at this point with how well both are playing. So you can go ahead and book your travel to Indianapolis. That, for the most part, is done.”

There seems to be a lot of conversation about Ohio State and Indiana. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit was debating what team would come out on top.

“Indiana‘s real,” Herbstreit said. “Last year, I wasn’t real high on Indiana. Nothing against them, but I just never really saw it against a great opponent. This year we have. One thing I really admire about Indiana is its consistency at the line of scrimmage. They’re not a gimmicky offense in this day and age of ‘we’re going to run some form of RPO.’ I mean they do, but if you really watch them, they pound you into misery on both sides of the football.

“With that being said, Ohio State‘s skill and this quarterback Julian Sayin (who I didn’t know anything about), every single week he seems to take another step and another step. We know that he has NFL receivers everywhere. I’d probably, on a natural field, but I’d give Ohio State a three or four point advantage over them.”

For now, Ohio State has to take on Purdue on the road this weekend while Indiana hits the road to play Penn State. Perhaps the December 6th clash in Indianapolis will in fact happen.
