Iowa State fans accomplished something massive in the stands at Aviva Stadium in Ireland Saturday. During the action against Kansas State, fans built a beer cup snake to the second level!
That’s right, those cups did not come loose. Imagine stacking cups that high? Iowa State fans, and others, were definitely knocking back a few.

At halftime, Iowa State and Kansas State were tied 7-7. Both teams were plagued by the weather and turnovers early on.
For the Cyclones, Rocco Becht was just six-of-15 passing for 78 yards and a touchdown. Avery Johnson was nine-of-14 passing for 60 yards and also ran five times for 12 yards and Kansas State’s lone touchdown.

However, both teams lost two fumbles each in the first half. Dylan Edwards gave the ball to Iowa State immediately when he muffed a punt in the first quarter. He was apparently hurt on the play and hasn’t returned since.
Edwards appeared to tweak his left ankle on the play, which resulted in then Iowa State fumble recovery. He received treatment on the sidelines and later went back to the locker room before coming back out, though he didn’t have his helmet on. He also didn’t appear to go into the offensive huddle. Head coach Chris Klieman confirmed later that Edwards would not play in the second half.
Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell was also in midseason form during a weird first half. He went ballistic at officials following a delay of game call.
