Pittsburgh All-ACC guard Jaland Lowe plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Pittsburgh sophomore guard Jaland Lowe plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after his second season with the Panthers, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

The 6’2 guard from Missouri City (Tex.) led the team in scoring as a sophomore, averaging 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists across 32 games. That built off a strong freshman campaign and earned him All-ACC honors in 2024-25.

But the Panthers struggled to a 17-15 record and 8-12 mark in ACC play, missing the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in head coach Jeff Capel’s seven seasons. Lowe will now hit the portal with two years of eligibility remaining and is expected to be one of the top commodities on the market.

As a high schooler, he signed with the Panthers in 2023 over SMU, Memphis, Oklahoma State and dozens of other offers. Lowe ranked as the No. 88 prospect and No. 19 point guard nationally in the the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
