James Madison at Oregon odds: Opening point spread released for first-round College Football Playoff game
The College Football Playoff field is finally set. There, the last team in the field, the James Madison Dukes, are set to travel across the country to take on the Oregon Ducks.
Ahead of the game, BetMGM released odds on the game. Oregon opened as a 21.5-point favorite over James Madison. Meanwhile, the over/under point total has been set at 50.5 points for the game.
James Madison is entering the College Football Playoff as the Sun Belt Champion. Having gone 12-1 this season and won 11-straight games, the Dukes are storming into the Playoff. Of course, Oregon has also had a fantastic season, finishing 11-1 but missing the Big Ten Championship Game. Now, they’re the No. 5 seed in the CFP and are set to host a first round game.

James Madison suffered just one loss this season, against Louisville. That was back in September, and the Dukes would roll through Sun Belt play. That culminated with their win in the Sun Belt Championship against Troy.
Oregon, meanwhile, only lost to No. 1 Indiana this season. Outside of that, the Ducks have been just about perfect this season. Now, a year removed from winning the Big Ten but losing in their first Playoff game, Oregon is hoping to turn things around and make a deep run in the postseason.
The winner of the James Madison and Oregon game is set to play Texas Tech. The Red Raiders are the No. 4 seed and won the Big 12 this season.
