Vanderbilt quarterback Jared Curtis is listed as questionable in the initial availability report for the Week 5 game against Georgia. As of this writing, it’s not clear what injury Curtis is dealing with heading into the big SEC matchup.

Jared Curtis has appeared in all four games but has started the last two. This year, the former five-star quarterback has completed 63% of his passes for 746 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.

“Tremendous talent,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart told reporters on Monday, per Jed May of UGA Sports. “Way better athletically than people give him credit for. I don’t know if anybody’s tackled him, with one person, tackled him yet. He’s strong. He’s quick. He’s powerful. He’s got great arm talent. Everything everybody thought has been true.”

Curtis has also rushed for 133 yards on 41 attempts. If Curtis plays, the Bulldogs will have to prepare for a quarterback that can take off and run if he needs to. “It’s always important that you tackle well, right?” Smart said.

Kirby Smart shares thoughts on Jared Curtis

“No matter if it’s a running back, receiver, tight end, or quarterback, you’ve got to tackle well. We’re going to play mobile quarterbacks the entire year. I mean, tell me somebody who’s not mobile that plays quarterback. I don’t know that there is one. So they’re all mobile. They’re all athletic. They’ve all got good arms. They’re all good players, and they all got good teams, so it doesn’t change what we have to do each week.”

Curtis is not the only Vanderbilt player dealing with injuries. CB Jaylin Lackey, LB Jamison Curtis, DL Aaron Bryant, and DL Nikhil Jefferson are ruled out for the Georgia game. Three Commodores players, EDGE Miles Capers, OL Clinton Azubuike, and OL Lyndon Cooper, are listed as probable.

On the Georgia side, OLB Amaris Williams, S Tyriq Green, and OL Marcus Harrison have been ruled out. RB Nate Frazier, WR Isiah Canion, and OLB Chase Linton are listed as questionable. The game kicks off on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
