Jared McCain, 2023 top-25 prospect, sets commitment date
Jared McCain, a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Corona (Calif.) Centennial will announce his college decision on Friday, March 18th at 7:00 pm ET/4:00 pm PT, he tells On3.
The California native is ranked 17th nationally in the 2023 class, according to On3.
In the month of February, McCain took official visits to both Duke and Gonzaga. Last year, Louisville and Houston hosted him officially, however, McCain is expected to be choosing between the Zags and the Blue Devils.
As much of a superstar McCain is on the court, he might be an even bigger one on social media. McCain has grown a TikTok following that just hit the 1 million follower mark, not to mention 250,000 followers on Instagram.
The social media fame, as well as his on-court success, earns him a $300,000 On3 NIL Valuation. According to the On3 NIL 100, McCain ranks 34th on the list, but sixth overall in the high school basketball space.
Scouting Report
“McCain is a confident and skilled scorer. His best scoring attribute is getting into the mid-range and knocking down an assortment of pull-ups and floaters. He is a good enough shooter from three and he can finish at the basket. McCain is a volume scorer and a shoot-first ball handler. He is a competitive defender and uses and strong and compact frame to be a disruption. McCain has won a lot, at every level.” – Jamie Shaw, On3’s National Recruiting Analyst
