More on Saturday’s big-time SEC showdown between the Auburn Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners
Two teams with a 3-0 record will step onto the field Saturday afternoon. Early nonconference games were viewed as massive tests for them early on. Auburn took care of business against the Baylor Bears, going into Waco and walking out, victory in hand. One week later, Oklahoma saw the Michigan Wolverines roll into Norman and not find much success, mainly on the offensive side.
The lights are now officially on, though. SEC play outweighs what either team can do against those previous opponents. Building a resume toward the College Football Playoff has to be on the respective minds of Freeze and Venables. Getting plenty of ranked matchups certainly helps.
Hopefully, injuries do not wind up playing a factor into the result. Plenty of eyes will be on this one, hoping to produce another SEC classic in the early portion of the conference schedule.
