Joel Klatt has revealed some huge news regarding the spring game for both the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines.

Evidently, FOX is getting in on the action. Klatt and the network will carry the Buckeyes’ and Wolverines’ spring games live on the network when they roll around in April, Klatt announced on Monday.

Check it out below, as Klatt “cannot wait” to be in Columbus and Ann Arbor, ready to get the football season unofficially underway.

“Huge news. On April 13th and on April 20th, we will be televising Ohio State’s and Michigan’s spring football game live on FOX,” Klatt announced. “That’s right, we’re airing them on FOX. I’ll be at each of those games. Both of them are going to be at Noon eastern, so Big Noon rolls on. But I cannot wait for these. FOX will be broadcasting the spring games for Ohio State and Michigan. That’s again, April 13th for the Buckeyes, April 20th for the Wolverines, the defending national champions, and we will be, I will be at both. So I cannot wait for that.

“It’s going to be a big April, there’s no doubt, with the draft. With the UFL starting. And now with these marquee programs and their spring games, on big FOX. I cannot wait for that.”

Alas, spring football is going to be huge in 2024, with so much anticipation for the season. FOX is proving that with their broadcast of the Ohio State and Michigan contests, and we’re sure other networks will follow with other high level programs, as well.

Sherrone Moore, Michigan formally announce hiring Ohio State assistant Tony Alford as new RB coach

In other news, Ohio State assistant Tony Alford crossed over to enemy lines. Earlier this offseason, Michigan announced he will be the Wolverines’ next running backs coach

After spending the last nine seasons with the Buckeyes, Alford will be departing from Ryan Day‘s staff and newly hired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. He will now join Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore in his first season at the helm following three straight wins over Ohio State, three straight Big Ten title wins, and a national championship victory this past season.

“Tony is an elite running backs coach who is an outstanding mentor and example for young men in all aspects of football and life,” Moore said in a statement. “I know that he will have a profound impact on our running back room and football program. We are excited to have Tony and his wife, Trina, and their boys join the Michigan Football Family.”

Alford is regarded as one of the best running back recruiters and coaches in the country, coaching proven NFL pros like Ezekiel Elliott and J.K. Dobbins along with other decorated rushers like Mike Weber and TreVeyon Henderson. With the Buckeyes not boasting a 1,000-yard rusher in just three of his nine seasons in Columbus. Also promoted to run game coordinator and assistant head coach for offense during his tenure at Ohio State.
