Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin announced his top 10 schools on Saturday. They are Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami, Mississippi State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, South Carolina, Florida State and Michigan.

Franklin is the No. 25 overall prospect and No. 5 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound recruit has taken unofficial visits to multiple finalists. Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M tie for the most with three.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a very close race for Franklin’s commitment. Right now, the Rebels (24.3%), Crimson Tide (21.3), Aggies (18.2%) and Volunteers (10.3%) are out front.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Franklin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $97K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Kamarion Franklin On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Kamarion Franklin:

“Edge defender that projects to DT who wreaks havoc on opposing offenses with his get off and brute strength. Ran an electronically-timed 5.28 40 and jumped a 25” vertical in the spring prior to his junior season. A two-sport athlete who also plays basketball. Disruptive off the edge and lives in the backfield. Totaled 11 sacks as a junior. Instinctive and heady player for a sophomore. Has some hip stiffness but makes up for it with foot speed and play recognition.”
