Andre Davis of Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley is one of the top playmakers in the Midlands Region.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound wide receiver entered the January contact period with offers from Kansas State, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas and Iowa State. Schools from all over the country have been stopping by Blue Valley since the start of the contact period to check him out.

One of the schools was Nebraska, and the Cornhuskers became the latest school to extend an offer. The offer from assistant Bill Busch came on Thursday, and it’s one he’s quite fired up about.

Andre Davis set for junior day visits

Andre Davis is also set for a busy few weeks with two junior days on the calendar.

Next Saturday, Davis will be in Lawrence for the Jayhawks’ Junior Day event. He will then head to Iowa City for Iowa’s Junior Day on March 5.

Both schools are among Andre Davis’ top teams, and he said it’ll be a great chance to see both programs up close and in person. For Davis, it’ll be a return visit to Lawrence. He was on campus for a game in late October.

Davis has also taken unofficial visits to K-State for three games this fall. He was also on campus at Iowa State in early November for a game.

Also, don’t be surprised if Nebraska becomes a factor in Davis’ recruitment. The Huskers have been ultra-aggressive in the Sunflower State the past few weeks by extending offers to top players from the state like Maize quarterback Avery Johnson and Derby running back Dylan Edwards.

Andre Davis’ father is Willie Davis, who played in the NFL for eight seasons. Davis played his sophomore season at Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point.

Davis had a big junior season that saw him rack up more than 740 yards receiving, three touchdowns and averaged 16.3 yards a reception.
