Kirby Smart on what impresses him about Michigan pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson

Kirby Smart fully understands Aiden Hutchinson is a problem. With the final four teams slated for the College Football Playoff, No. 2 Georgia is tasked with facing No. 3 Michigan in the semifinal in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
With the matchup vs. a surging Wolverines team riding the momentum from the magical victory over an-ultra talented Ohio State squad, Georgia fully understands the challenges Michigan will present.
Though the highly-anticipated matchup won’t take place until New Years Day, Kirby Smart joined the official Orange Bowl teleconference earlier this week.
Michigan star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson became a major focal point. Smart is clearly a defensive guru, and when asked if the Georgia front man was familiar with the star pass rusher, Smart didn’t hesitate.
“Yeah, number one, I was really impressed with his interview last night, then again today,” Smart responded and obviously noticed Hutchinson’s strong character. “I caught him on I forget, he was on with the College Football Playoff coverage”
Kirby Smart’s nine-year old son Aidan Hutchinson fan?
One would assume anyone in the Smart household is loyal to the Georgia Bulldogs, and that’s likely true of his son, who came up in a hilarious story involving the Michigan wrecker.
“You can tell high motor, high intensity, serious, Smart said of the Michigan star. Just a talented player.”
Then came the story involving Kirby Smart’s nine-year-old son’s take on Aidan Hutchinson, which was clearly surprising for the Georgia front man.

“It was funny. Last night when I got home, I turned the game on, was watching it. I got a nine-year-old son that loves college football, watches everything YouTube,” the Bulldogs’ coach shared.
“He started telling me about Michigan’s players. That’s the first guy he started telling me about. I’m like, how does my nine-year-old son now about Aidan Hutchinson? He knew everything about him, was giving me all these stats. I was pretty amazed because I really just started to fill myself in about Michigan last night, and he was talking about Aidan Hutchinson.
It’s quite possible Kirby Smart has trained his son to scout upcoming opponents, but in all honesty, who isn’t paying attention to the electric pass rusher right now?
Before last Saturday’s stunning loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC title game, Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs were undefeated — and quite literally–plowing through each and every opponent on a weekly basis.
Aidan Hutchinson will be a focal point and clearly create chaos for Stetson Bennett and a Georgia offense that’s shown it has holes. Michigan will have to craft an innovative offensive approach, but Georgia must put the Alabama loss in the rearview mirror. Jim Harbaugh’s 2021 squad is playing as good as anyone, and if Kirby Smart is going to get over the hurdle and claim a title, the Bulldogs better come ready.
