Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin was happy to see his son Knox, a quarterback in the 2028 recruiting class, get some recognition over the weekend. Even if it did happen to come at a rival SEC school.

Knox Kiffin was pictured in Tuscaloosa on a visit at Alabama as it looks like the school wants to get an early look at him. His dad responded to the photo on X, thanking the Crimson Tide for having his son.

Knox Kiffin is about to enter his sophomore season at Oxford (MS) High School. He already has offers from SMU, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky and a host of other small schools.

Knox Kiffin played his freshman season of high school atĀ Palos VerdeĀ (Calif.) last season before transferring to Oxford as he moved there to live with his father. Ā He’ll now look to make an impact on an Oxford program that went 6-5 last fall and finished as the No. 34 team in Mississippi, according to theĀ On3 Composite Rankings.

Lane Kiffin has been the coach at Ole Miss since 2020 season, with a 44-18 record in five seasons. However, he also has a connection at Alabama after having been the offensive coordinator for the Crimson Tide under Nick Saban from 2014-16. That included winning a national championship during the 2015 season.

The 2028 recruiting class is still two more cycles away with the 2026 and 2027 still in front of it. That in mind, Knox Kiffin has a lot more time to pick up offers from bigger programs and it’s clear at least some are already interested. One would think that the Rebels are also a team to keep an eye on given that his dad is the head coach.

Ole Miss is coming off of a 10-3 season and just missed out on making the College Football Playoff. The Rebels brought in the No. 19 overall freshman recruiting class and were also active in the transfer portal. Perhaps Knox Kiffin can be a part of their class a few years down the road, or maybe he’ll opt to go to another program such as Alabama.

Regardless, his recruitment will certainly be an interesting one to watch over the next couple of seasons. The Oxford High Chargers will play their first game of the 2025 season on Aug. 29 atĀ ColliervilleĀ (Tenn.), where Knox Kiffin will look to start his career there off on a high note.
