It never takes Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin long to fire up a good rib at a rival when the going is good. And the going was oh so good on Saturday evening after a 24-19 win over LSU.

Just minutes after the dust settled on the huge win, Kiffin fired up his Twitter account and let the world in on his motivation going into the game. And it was presumably the same pre-game meal his team was feasting on.

Lane Kiffin tweeted an “in-season opponent report” that had just one segment on it. It was a quote from LSU coach Brian Kelly on his weekly radio show.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Kelly had said. “We’re going to keep that Magnolia Trophy right here in Baton Rouge where it deserves to be and our guys are excited for the opportunity.”

Well, that one backfired a bit for the LSU folks. You can check out Lane Kiffin’s troll job below.

Ole Miss was dominant in the game from start to finish, though the final margin was inside a touchdown. The Rebels piled up 480 yards of offense while limiting the Tigers to just 254.

LSU couldn’t run the ball at all, hindered by a couple injuries to its running backs and starting offensive line. LSU finished with just 57 yards on 22 carries, averaging 2.6 a pop.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, got excellent run after excellent run by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, mostly in timely situations. He finished with 14 carries for 71 yards, though he had one carry on the game’s final drive that drew Lane Kiffin’s ire.

Chambliss was attempting to run out the clock but went out of bounds stretching for the pylon. He came up three yards short of the sticks and stopped the clock with 1:47 to play, which could have given LSU a chance to do something late.

Instead, Lane Kiffin dialed up the aggression and went for it on fourth down. Chambliss found Dae’Quan Wright slipping out to the left flats for a 20-yard catch and run, icing the game.

The win moved Ole Miss to 5-0, and the Tigers will have a good chance to jump into the top 10 of this week’s AP Poll as a result. All in all a good day’s work for Lane Kiffin, who brings the Magnolia Trophy home once again.
