LOOK: Comparison of ticket prices for National Championship vs. SEC Championship

Monday’s national championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs is the hottest ticket around. The game will be a rematch of December’s SEC championship game where the Crimson Tide upset the then No. 1 Bulldogs 41-24.
It should go without saying that tickets for this game will come at a hefty price point. Currently, the cheapest ticket price on secondary markets for the national championship game is $418. That price tag should come as no surprise to those still hoping to get a seat. But what is surprising is that the secondary market price is cheaper than the SEC Championship game that happened a month ago. The website ticket IQ shows just how great the discrepancy in price is with this post.
The first time around Georgia had their hands full trying to slow down Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. Young had a record-setting night tonight for the Crimson Tide in a number of ways. In the first half, he set the SEC Championship Game record for most passing yards in the first half with 286. Near the end of the game, he set the all-time passing yardage mark in the SEC Championship Game with 421 passing yards. Young completed 26 of his 44 pass attempts for 421 yards while tossing in three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Eye-opening stat in the story of Georgia vs. Alabama
Georgia and Alabama are undoubtedly two powers in college football, setting up an intriguing matchup. Alabama has won seven consecutive games against Georgia, while the Bulldogs’ last win in the series came in 2008. But while Alabama has had the upper hand recently, it doesn’t tell the whole story for Georgia.
