Louisville lands a commitment from QB Briggs Cherry

Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School 2026 quarterback Briggs Cherry has committed to Louisville.
Cherry is commit No. 6 for head coach Jeff Brohm and his staff in the 2026 cycle.
“The Ville just felt like home to me and my family and they run the offense that best fits my scheme,” Cherry said.
A talented passer, Cherry fits a lot of offenses. As a junior Cherry threw for 2,718 yards and 31 touchdowns to just three interceptions.
“They’re getting No. 1 an elite human being,” Baylor School head coach Erik Kimrey said. “He’s the leader of our team. Probably the nucleaus and glue of the chemistry we have. Those intangible qualities are important when you’re a quarterback.”
Other offers for Cherry included Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Pittsburgh among others.
“From a pure player standpoint you’re getting a tall, elite quarterback that can make any throw. Has what I call a Sunday arm. He’s a quick processor. Can grasp a lot at one time from install and playbook standpoint and a very consistent passer of the football. He’s the kind of guy if you surround him with great talent he’s an unbelievable distributor of the ball.”
Cherry was one of the standouts at the recent Battle 7v7 South Florida tournament.
