LSU DL Ahmad Breaux plans to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes per reporting on Monday afternoon by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“BREAKING: LSU DL Ahmad Breaux plans to enter the @TransferPortal, he tells @On3Sports,” posted Fawcett.

Breaux just finished his second season with the Tigers. He, in that underclassman career there, appeared in a total of 24 games, with a pair of those being starts for LSU. In total, Breaux posted 36 tackles overall, 4.0 of those being for loss, with 0.5 of a sack. That includes this past season as a sophomore when he had 19 total tackles, 2.5 of them being for loss, and that half of a sack for the Tiger defense.

Breaux, an in-state native, played his high school football at Ruston. He ranked as a Top-700 overall recruit there as a three-star in the 2024 recruiting cycle. He also rated as a Top-70 DL in the class as well as a Top-25 prospect out of the state of Louisiana. That’s according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’d then arrive in Baton Rouge as part of the No. 7 recruiting class in the country for LSU, according to Rivals’ 2024 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

This comes as the latest expected loss, in what’ll be the second transfer window of the year, for LSU. One month-long window opened at the time of the firing of Brian Kelly back at the end of October, with the program having since hired Lane Kiffin as the next head coach of the Tigers. Now, amidst that coaching change, more departures, as well as arrivals based on who’s now in charge there, could be coming at Louisiana State.

Breaux had a pair of productive seasons as a freshman and sophomore for the Tigers. He’ll now look to continue that elsewhere in his collegiate career, with two seasons of eligibility still left for him, as he plans to have his name in when the one-time, two-week window for the portal opens on January 2nd.
