Maryland officially unveiled its 2025–26 non-conference men’s basketball schedule Monday, a slate that includes six home games at XFINITY Center, a trip to Las Vegas for a holiday tournament, high-profile matchups against regional rivals and a trip to Baltimore.

The Terps will open the Buzz Williams era with an exhibition game against UMBC on Oct. 27 in College Park. The regular season officially tips off Nov. 3 with a matchup against Coppin State at Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena as part of the Hall of Fame Series Baltimore. That doubleheader will also feature Loyola vs. Towson, and will include a special tribute to former Maryland head coach Gary Williams by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The home opener will mark the beginning of a four-game series against longtime rival Georgetown. The two programs last met during the 2016–17 season, a 76-75 Maryland win at Capital One Arena in which Melo Trimble scored a game-high 22 points. Maryland leads the all-time series 38–27.

Maryland’s first true road test of the season will come on Dec. 15, when the Terps face Marquette in Milwaukee as the back end of a home-and-home series that began last year in College Park. Williams coached Marquette from 2008-2014, taking the Golden Eagles to multiple Sweet Sixteens and an Elite Eight.

A major early-season test awaits Maryland in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week, where the Terps will compete in the Players Era Championship Tournament. The team is set to face UNLV on Monday and Gonzaga on Tuesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. A third game will follow later in the week based on tournament results. The UNLV game will be televised on TNT, while the Gonzaga game will air on TRU TV.

In December, Maryland’s non-conference play continues with a home matchup against Wagner on Dec. 2, followed by two Big Ten contests. After a break for exams, the Terps will travel to Virginia to renew their storied border rivalry with the Cavaliers, whom they’ve faced 184 times. Maryland holds a 108–76 edge in the all-time series.

The Terps will close out the non-conference slate on Dec. 28 at home against Old Dominion, led by former Maryland assistant and DeMatha coaching legend Mike Jones.

Game times, TV assignments, and the full Big Ten schedule will be announced at a later date.
