Michigan transfer WR Amorion Walker signs with Middle Tennessee

Michigan transfer wide receiver Amorion Walker has signed with Middle Tennessee, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. He spent the past three seasons with the Wolverines and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Walker played both receiver and defensive back for the Wolverines, appearing in 15 games from 2022-24. He played four games with one start all at receiver this past season to finish with three catches for 34 yards.

The season prior in 2023, Walker played five games all at defensive back to finish with three tackles, including 1.5 for loss, and one pass breakup. He transferred to Ole Miss that offseason before reversing course and returning to Michigan.

Amorion Walker played high school football at Ponchatoula (LA), where he was a three-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 466 overall player and No. 76 receiver in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 6-foot-3 wideout also ranks as the No. 1,105 player and No. 177 receiving in this transfer cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He joins a Middle Tennessee team coming off of a 3-9 finish in 2024.

The spring transfer portal opened Wednesday, April 16 and closed on Friday, April 25. As of this writing, more than 3,600 FBS scholarship players have entered the transfer portal in the 2024-25.

Michigan edge rusher Kechaun Bennett enters NCAA transfer portal

Michigan edge rusher Kechaun Bennett has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He played the past four seasons with the Wolverines.

Bennett played 24 games over the past two years in Ann Arbor, contributing both on special teams and as a backup for the defense. He ends his career with seven tackles, one quarterback hurry and one blocked kick.

Bennett played high school football at Suffield Academy (CT), where he was a three-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 445 overall player and No. 45 edge rusher in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Michigan has now lost 31 players overall and three edge rushers to the transfer portal this offseason. The Wolverines have also added 17 players and rank No. 9 according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.
