Mike Gundy reveals Collin Oliver likely suffered season-ending injury vs. Arkansas

Bad news came for Oklahoma State after Saturday’s win against Arkansas, as coach Mike Gundy revealed linebacker Collin Oliver is likely out for the season with a leg injury. It’s a huge blow for the Cowboys, as Oliver was expected to be a leader for the defense this year.
“I think he’s done for the year,” Gundy told reporters. “…They thought that he had maybe a fracture or a crack or something.”
Oliver left the game against the Razorbacks in the second quarter after a quarterback pressure helped to force an interception. He was later seen on the sidelines wearing a boot on his right foot, and ESPN reported that he had X-Rays done in the locker room on his lower right leg.
Oliver was a second-team All-Big 12 selection in 2023 after recording 73 tackles (15.5 for loss) and six sacks. He had two tackles and one pass defended on Saturday prior to leaving the game with injury.

Oklahoma State has not played a lot of football without Oliver over the year, as the linebacker had appeared in every game since arriving on campus in 2021. He has been impactful from the beginning, as he was named the unanimous Big 12 Freshman of the Year in his first season.
Oliver entered the game against Arkansas on Saturday with 23.5 career sacks to ranks fifth in programs history. He was just 10.5 sacks away from tying Leslie O’Neal for No. 1 in Oklahoma State history.
Unfortunately, he’ll now have to wait another year if he hopes to break that record. In the meantime, the Cowboys will look for someone to step in and fill the void left behind by the injury to Collin Oliver.
OSU is next set to play Tulsa at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 14.
