Minnesota earns verbal from former TCU commit Cade McConnell
Choctaw (Okla.) three-star offensive lineman Cade McConnell has flipped his commitment to Minnesota.
McConnell was previously committed to TCU before decommitting three weeks ago. Fort Worth (Texas) Everman three-star offensive lineman Seth Martin also decommitted from the Horned Frogs that day.
McConnell is the No. 639 prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.
He is the fourth offensive lineman in the Golden Gophers recruiting class after Slinger (Wis.) three-star offensive tackle Ashton Beers, Tracy (Minn.) three-star offensive tackle Tony Nelson and Minneapolis Columbia Heights Senior three-star offensive tackle Spencer Alvarez.
Minnesota had the No. 48 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking before McConnell’s commitment.
He is the third-highest recruit in the Golden Gophers’ class after Shippensburg (Pa.) Shippensburg Area four-star defensive lineman Anthony Smith and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star defensive lineman Trey Bixby.
