Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck loses it on official following questionable call vs. Iowa

Minnesota Golden Gophers head coach PJ Fleck was furious over a call in their game against Iowa on Saturday night. He berated an official and made them watch the replay on the scoreboard. Here’s a brief look at the video below.
Unfortunately for Fleck, berating the officials didn’t help him much, as Minnesota lost on Saturday, 31-14. Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson was the most dominant player on the field, rushing for a career-high 206 yards and three touchdowns. He had two touchdowns in the dominant third quarter that helped to fuel the Hawkeyes to the 31-14 victory.
Iowa won the bronze pig trophy back from Minnesota, also known as Floyd of Rosedale. Kaleb Johnson currently leads the nation in rushing yardage. He stretched his four-game total to 685 yards, after he utilized a dominant performance by the Iowa offensive line and turned it into his own highlight tape.
The Hawkeyes gained 200-plus rushing yards for their fourth straight game. It’s the longest streak for the program since 2013. The Minnesota defense was coming off of shutouts against Nevada and Rhode Island, so the performance was certainly impressive for Kaleb Johnson and company.

Minnesota receiver Daniel Jackson still turned in another great performance, hauling in nine catches for 112 yards. He’s one of the best receivers in the Big Ten. Last year, he hauled in 831 receiving yards for the Golden Gophers. Jackson has nearly tallied 2,000 receiving yards in his career. He’s bound to break that milestone very soon. He’s also hauled in 14 touchdowns in his career.
Minnesota kicked off their season with a 19-17 loss against the North Carolina Tar Heels. They won the next two straight over Rhode Island (48-0) and Nevada (27-0), before losing to Iowa 31-14 on Saturday night. Next up, they’ll face the Michigan Wolverines, before facing a tough USC squad the following week. So that will be a tough, tough stretch for Fleck and company.
Minnesota and Michigan will face off against each other on Saturday, September 28th. Game time for that one has not yet been announced.
