Pac-12's Yogi Roth Predicts Washington to Win the Pac-12

Supporting the Seattle community through nonprofit endeavors has been one of the central missions of Washington-focused Montlake Futures since its inception in 2022. And the collective’s latest NIL partnerships are more examples of that focus.

Montlake Futures announced that cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, offensive lineman Roger Rosengarten and linebackers Carson Bruener and Alphonzo Tuputala are using their name, image and likeness to team up with Seattle Children’s Hospital’s 15th annual Run of Hope.

The mission of the Run of Hope is to generate funds and awareness to advance pediatric cancer research. The Run of Hope benefits Seattle Children’s and continues the “remarkable legacy of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Guild, who founded the event in 2009 and raised more than $9 million in its 14-year history.”

As part of the partnership, the players are encouraging UW fans to join their team and “change the odds for children facing a cancer diagnosis.”

“As UW student-athletes, we believe in the power of unity, dedication, and making a positive impact on our community,” the Husky players said when encouraging fans to support Run of Hope.

Montlake Futures supports good causes

Montlake Futures helps 501(c)(3) organizations work with Washington student-athletes to “promote, fundraise and support their missions.”

The collective pairs athletes with nonprofits and each pairing features hours, promotions and NIL rights that the nonprofit can apply at its discretion. Montlake Futures covers the cost of the packages. There are social, appearance, ambassador and spokesperson packages, each of which offers different term lengths to use an athlete’s NIL, a of number of social media posts and other benefits.

“It’s not only important to the ethos on campus and us at Montlake Futures but also to the UW alumni base that NIL looks and feels high integrity here — which of course presents unique challenges, but I think is a pretty great thing to strive for,” Montlake Futures executive director and general manager Emmy Armintrout told the Seattle Times after its 2022 launch.

“So not to say that we’re the only collective going for that, but what makes us unique is what makes UW and the UW alumni base unique. It’s the history that we have. The culture that we have. And the access to this amazing city.”

Washington On3 NIL Valuations

Since its launch, Montlake Futures has partnered Washington athletes with community-focused organizations like Food Lifeline, Cancer Pathways, Treehouse, Big Climb Seattle, AHA Washington, 4C Coalition, American Heart Association, Make a Wish, ALS Association and many others.

After Week 1, Washington is second in the On3 Pac-12 Power Rankings. The Michael Penix Jr. Heisman campaign is off to a fantastic start. Washington’s star quarterback had himself a day in Week 1 against Boise State, accumulating 450 passing yards and five touchdowns in the Huskies’ opening contest.

And all of the success on the field in 2022 and early on in 2023 has been returned with numerous NIL opportunities – largely through Montlake Futures – for UDub players.

With all the attention Penix has generated, he has one of the highest On3 NIL Valuations in college football at $1 million. That puts him at No. 21 on the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their valuation.

Roger Rosengarten, the Huskies’ starting right tackle, has the highest On3 NIL Valuation in the group involved in the deal at $377,000. He has seen a 15% growth in that valuation over the past 10 weeks. Rosengarten was a preseason All-Pac-12 pick by numerous publications after being named a freshman All-American in 2022.
